Children marginalized by the value system.

 

An honor student committed suicide. We valued him  he was an excellent student.
But does being an honor student mean being intelligent? No.

I have always tried to explain this to teachers: Do not fear the child to whom you give the highest grade  fear the one to whom you give a low grade.
Because that child may be so intelligent that you were unable to teach him through your own explanation. Always fear not the students you manage to teach, but those you cannot. Understand how intelligent the child is whom you fail to teach.

If in a class of 25 or 30 students you can give excellent marks to only two, then the problem is not in the class  the problem is in you. It means you were only able to explain the lesson to two shallow-minded students and gave them high grades, while the deep-minded children could not be convinced by your explanation  because they did not accept it. The presence of only two successful students in a classroom is proof of how weak a teacher you are.

Let’s not go far  who achieves success in real life? Those children whom we failed to value, whom we pushed aside calling them “weak.” And those who are influenced more quickly and lose their way are often the ones we labeled as “excellent.” I firmly believe that none of today’s officials were honor students during their school years  I am one hundred percent sure of this. It is very difficult to explain and teach something to a truly intelligent person.
A teacher who understands this raises students whose majority later achieve high success in life.

When a child visits us, the first question we ask is: “What is 2 times 2?” And we think we have measured the child’s intelligence. But instead, we should ask: “Do you have a friend? Who is that friend? Have you ever helped them?” Ask questions from life. Do not evaluate your valuable children by grades of 2 or 3. Even the grades given by teachers are relative. If your child receives low marks, either change the school or the teacher,
or try to explain the subject to your child at home yourself. Be proud of your child who gets low grades because he is so intelligent that the teacher cannot teach him.

We often say a child is intelligent because he sits when told to sit and stands when told to stand. But in fact, the intelligent child is the one who does not stand immediately  the one who thinks: “Why should I stand? Do I really need to?" Do not overprotect the child you say is weak and cannot study 
he is very intelligent. Protect the honor student instead the child who accepts everything the teacher says 
because that child is actually the weaker one.

With this article, my intention is not to insult teachers. It applies to those who teach superficially, who spend only five minutes trying to explain something to children, to tutors who say, “I cannot teach you here  come to my home and I will prepare you.” It applies to those teachers who diminish the safe, state-established education system. The teachers of our martyrs the children who sacrificed their lives for the homeland  say only one sentence:

“The students to whom we gave low grades became heroes and were martyred for the Motherland.”
